MUSKINGUM COUNTY, Ohio- Members of the Muskingum Valley Garden Society spent their Monday and Tuesday mornings at the Y Bridge, decorating the historical attraction with flowers.

This is the 11th year the Garden Society has been beautifying the downtown area. This year, members decorated the 17 light fixtures with different color petunias.

“We’ve had thousands of people, the last several years, and say this is probably the best part of Zanesville downtown and the Y Bridge for all the visitors. Now that Covid is over, people are traveling and we really think we’ll have a spectacular summer,” Muskingum Valley Garden Society Darlene Turner said.

Local communities and businesses helped assist the Garden Society in this project. Goss Supply Co. supplied the life truck to reach the flower baskets. Taylor Terrace Landscapes helped with the irrigation and Timber Run Gardens supplied the plants.

“We really appreciate the compliments we get from the community as they drive past. Most important years, the public support because we do sponsor the containers downtown. Each person gives us so much money for each of the containers they do sponsor. That’s the biggest asset for us, the help,” Turner said.

Members were also downtown last Friday and Saturday planting. Be sure to check out all the work the garden society has done to beautify the area.
