Gary E. Douglas

Gary E. Douglas, 69 of Zanesville, died 5:59 PM, Thursday, June 3, 2021, at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville.  He was born Friday, December 14, 1951, in Zanesville, the son of Raymond Douglas and Garnet (Ross) Douglas. He married Cheryl (Todd) Douglas on Saturday, June 27, 1987, and was a member of Rushing Wind Biker Church.

Gary was employed with Essex Wire on Ceramic Avenue for over 27 years, and also worked at Dollar General, Avon and was currently employed with Goodwill Senior Workforce.  He loved to fish, spend time outdoors, classic automobiles and photography.  Gary also enjoyed spending time at the Muskingum County Center for Seniors.

Gary is survived by his wife: Cheryl Douglas; two brothers: Raymond (Carolyn) Douglas of TN, and Steve (Carol) Douglas of Zanesville; one brother-in-law: Loren Todd of Nashport; two sisters-in-law: Lorraine Dingey and Lorrie Roberts; his mother-in-law: Anna Todd all of Nashport, and several nieces and nephews including a special nephew: Jesse Hutton, and great nephew: Coen Miles.

In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Stephen & Maggie (Marple) Douglas; maternal grandparents: Clyde & Alice Betsey Ross; father-in-law: Loren Todd, Jr., and a brother-in-law: Daniel Roberts.

Friends may call Sunday, June 6, 2021, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, at the Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, where funeral services will be held 1:00 PM, Monday, June 7, 2021, with Pastor Mike McGuire officiating.
