Gas Prices Down In Southeast Ohio

The residents of the Crooksville area were treated to significantly lower gas prices Tuesday afternoon.

Previous high gas prices were attributed to an oil refinery in Indiana shutting down temporarily. That refinery is now running again and is allowing for lower gas prices in the State of Ohio. A gallon of gas is marked for just under two dollars a gallon at both the Circle K and Certified Gas Stations in the Crooksville area. Motorist Sandria Harper told us her thoughts on the price decline.

“We’re able to do more and get more places.” She explained, “I’m really liking them. It’s better than what they was.”

According to GasBuddy.com, gas is averaging two dollars and fifteen cents a gallon. The website states prices at the Circle K in Crooksville were a dollar ninety-seven. Gas prices aren’t just low in Crooksville, but also in the New Lexington area. GasBuddy.com shows a gallon of gas at the BellStoreS on Broadway and Lowden is going for a dollar ninety-six. Customer, at Certified, Chuck Kuhn shared how the change in price affects him.

“It helps me a lot. I mean, you know, it helps me on my trip back and forth, you know?” Said Kuhn, “So it gives me more money to spend for other things which makes it nice.”

An employee of the Certified said the gas station has been incredibly busy the last couple of days due to the falling prices.
