Gene Jewell

Gene A. Jewell, age 84 of Cambridge, died Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Crown Pointe Care Center of Columbus, OH.
He was born June 2, 1942, in Cambridge, son of the late William Henry Jewell and Catherine J. (Coleman) Wade.
He retired from Pretty Products of Coshocton with 25 years, Unibrand Tires of Columbus with 15 years, and working construction with family members. He also was a tax preparer for H&R Block.
He attended Cambridge City Schools and Columbus State Community College.
He was a member of Trinity Wesleyan Church of Columbus, Fraternal Order of the Eagles, and Moose Lodge. He was a good friend and neighbor who loved everyone, especially his family. He loved going fishing and being outdoors. He loved to tell his fishing stories.
He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Nancy (Grindstaff) Jewell, sisters, Betty Martin, Marilee Glover, brothers, Bill Jewell and Edward R. Jewell.
He leaves his sister, Alice LaFollette of Cambridge, daughters, Cathy (Steve) Strasser of SC, Candace Robson of OH, and son, Gene (Denise) Jewell Jr. of NC., 8 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
