Generals continue conquest; down Panthers — Fink’s Full Court Press January 16, 2020

THORNVILLE, Ohio – Despite a road bump or two along the way, the Sheridan Generals have had their way with most of the teams in the Muskingum Valley League this season.
Other than a loss to fellow defending co-champion Tri-Valley, an upset by West Muskingum and a non-conference loss to a very talented Northridge team, the Generals have to be proud of the season they’ve put together thus far.
On the other end of the spectrum, Maysville came into this week winless before scoring back-to-back wins over Morgan and River View. After multiple quarantine periods and game postponements, it seemed that the Panthers had finally begun to build the kind of momentum that the team would need to string together a solid regular season to impress the powers that be come tournament draw.
Throughout the first two quarters, Maysville managed to hang with the Generals, occasionally falling eight or nine points behind before pulling themselves back up to a one or two possession deficit.
The Generals kickstarted themselves midway through the second with an 8-0 run that helped them take a 13 point lead into the half. They were able to extend the lead to 28 by the end of the third before coasting to another MVL victory to improve to 10-3 on the season.
