Genesis Pro-Am Golf Tournament tees off this weekend
ZANESVILLE, Ohio- More than 400 golfers will take to the Zanesville Country Club this weekend for a cause greater than their score.
The Genesis Healthcare Foundation will host their 37th annual Genesis Pro-Am Golf Tournament this Friday, September 8th through Sunday, September 10th. More than 30 teams of Amateurs will play Friday and Saturday and then be joined with a professional on Sunday. One of those professionals and a Zanesville native, Chase Wilson, said this is an event he looks forward to year round.
“Oh its awesome, I actually tell people I have an asterisk next to this one every year because I look forward to it so much, I mean not very often do you get to play in front of all of your friends, all of your family and people get to come watch.”
Money raised from the event this year will go towards a new machine at Genesis that helps better diagnose possible breast cancer.
“This year is the 3D Mammography Machine and what it does is help to avoid the false negatives when a woman is having her mammogram each year and this is currently up and running at the Healthplex.” said Administrative Assistant to Genesis Healthcare Foundation, Terri Kangas.
Kangas thanked the community for their overwhelming support for this event and Genesis Healthcare Foundation.
