George Chester Morrison Jr., 63 of Zanesville, passed away on November 9, 2024, at his residence.
He was born on May 14, 1961, in Santa Ana, California, son of the late George C. Morrison Sr. and Pat (Sheridan) Foust. George was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving from 1978-1988. He worked as a letter carrier for the Post Office in Madison, Ohio as well as Fishing Captain of Kalohi Charter in Hawaii. George later worked as a general contractor for Raytheon Tech Business as a defense trainer for 10 plus years, where he retired. George was a member of the Moose Lodge #867 as well as a member of the Amateur PGA. In his free time, he loved hunting, fishing, and playing golf. George was a diehard Cleveland Browns, Indians, and Ohio State Buckeye fan.
George is survived by his loving wife, Lisa (Smith) Morrison; stepsons, Kai Robertson and Joshua Adams; mother, Pat (Sheridan) Foust; stepfather, Allen Foust; 5 siblings, Paul Morrison, Chris “CJ” (Alicia) Morrison, Trisha Johnson, Tammy (Jim) Scott, Traci (Robert) Bugglin; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and dear friends.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Juanette (Heen) Morrison; father, George Chester Morrison Sr.; maternal grandparents, Bob & Dorothy Sheridan; paternal grandparents, Robert & Virginia Morrison; nephew, Joshua Shafer; and brother-in-law, Bradley “Dave” Johnson.
Calling hours will be held on Friday November 15, 2024, from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home, where services will be held at 2:00 PM with Pastor Paul Bugglin officiating. Full military honors will be presented by The United States Navy in conjunction with the VFW George Selsam Post 1058. A dignified cremation will take place following services.
