George Shaw Jr. passed away Monday, March 10th, 2025.

How do you sum up in so few words the life of a man who has been your hero?

As a lifelong resident of Zanesville, Ohio, George spent the last 70 years in adoration of his loving wife (survivor) Katherine Jenkins Shaw. He is also survived by daughters: Karen Honaker and Theresa Shaw; granddaughter Shannon Bishop; grandchildren Gabriel and Elizabeth Bishop and Dorian Hummel; and sisters: Dolores Memaw and Louise Bollinger.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sons: George Shaw ll and Lee Shaw; grandson Adam Honaker; a brother Edward Shaw; and a sister Rebecca Stevens.

George, a diesel mechanic retired from Putnam Transfer. George had many hobbies throughout his life. He was always building or fixing something and was always eager to lend a helping hand to someone in need.

Today we celebrate the life of a man who left his imprint on our hearts.
