Giacomo’s Celebrates 20 Years

Giacomo’s in Italian means James, and aptly named after founder Jim Adornetto, Giacomo’s is celebrating 20 years in Zanesville.

Adrian Adornetto, son of Jim and owner, says that the shop originally started in the kitchen of Adornetto’s Pizzeria right next door.

"And they baked bread next door" said Adronetto, "and my father’s Jim Adornetto, who is the founder, and her really enjoyed making bread and said I think I can take making bread and take it to another level and actually sustain itself in its own store. "

The restaurant now makes bread for Adornetto’s, The Old Market House Inn, its customers and a few accounts around town. Adornetto says that the longevity that they have sustained is due in part to the city itself.

"First of all our great customers, the people of Zaneville and the county. We’re blessed with some great employees. We’re blesses with come longevity in that fact. That really helps independent operators when you have great employees that put the time in. "

The Adornetto family has more plans for Giacomo’s in the future, but first they are celebrating just one more anniversary in the same week. We will be at the Old Market House Inn Wednesday for its 40 year anniversary.
