Gibbs Tackles Campaign Issue

An 18th District Congressional candidate is trying to bring some financial concerns about his campaign to rest.

Bob Gibbs filed an amended campaign finance report Monday morning. Campaign Coordinator, Emily Pettigrew, says in August of last year, some campaign contributions were designated for the General Election when they should have been designated for the May Primary. She says it was a computer error that caused the refiling, but she wants donors to know that the Gibbs’ campaign will not have to return any of the donations.

US Congressman Zack Space’s campaign says Gibbs accepted illegal campaign contributions, which is against the law, and the Gibbs’ campaign had 60 days to fix the computer error, which has passed.

It also cites that the Federal Elections Commission found 15 additional financial violations within Gibbs’ campaign.
