Going to the gym after Thanksgiving Dinner
ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Thanksgiving is over and hitting the gym can be a way to burn those extra holiday calories.
People have been working out since six this morning. Director of Operation Jim Fraunfelter suggest working out in moderation. He said setting realistic goals is critical to success.
“Set goals that you can attain, similar to a stair step. Look at yourself 15 days from now, 30 days from now, 45 days from now, and then the first of the year. But don’t try to come in and think I’m going to lose 50 pounds in one day,” said Fraunfelter.
The Fieldhouse said moderation is key, because overdoing it can result in an injury. Even though the New Year is when most people get a fresh start, it’s never to early to get some exercise.
“A lot of folks like to walk, also swimming. The swimming pool here at the fieldhouse is roughly about 88 degrees. It’s a lap pool. You can come in and walk in it or swim in it. It gets used a lot this time of year,” said Fraunfelter.
