Goodbye Summer
We are saying goodbye to summer as the Autumnal Equinox signaled the official beginning of fall around 10:00 p.m. Monday evening.
Monday afternoon felt more like fall day than summer a summer one, but, plenty of people were out and about enjoying the still beautiful day. Twin sisters Judy and Trudy Fountain enjoyed a tennis match, while grandfather Adam Meyers played at the park with his grandson.
"It’s really nicer to be out during this kind of weather, especially when you are doing strenuous exercise, like this, but yeah its fun" said Judy. "It’s better when I can beat her though" replied Trudy.
"Hurry up and get back" laughed Meyer, "I want it back, I don’t want this cold weather. "
And with fall finally upon us owner of Funk’s Ice Cream, Elaine Funk says after a very successful summer the shop will be closing up pretty soon,
"Well things are not as busy as we hoped, but, we are planning on hopefully closing this Friday. We aren’t filling anything before Friday, so if we run out we run out. And if we run about before Friday we’re going to close down. "
But don’t worry, summer will be back before you know it, and while fall is here take the time to enjoy the leaves changing colors, pumpkin picking and crisp apple cider.
