Grace M. McDonald (March 17, 1913 – February 2, 2010)

Grace M. McDonald, 96 of Zanesville, died 1:25 AM Tuesday, February 02, 2010 at Muskingum County Home following a lengthy illness. She was born Monday, March 17, 1913 in Zanesville, the daughter of Raymond B. Myers and Mary Louise(Haefner) Myers. She married William Ernest McDonald on Friday, August 28, 1936 and was a lifetime member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church where she was a very active member and enjoyed working with church and school fund raising activities. Grace was employed at St. Nicholas School Cafeteria and was a former member of Good Samaritan Charity Circle; Ladies Auxiliary, Knights of Saint John; and Daughters of Isabella. She was an avid card player and enjoyed her retirement years with her friends and family in Florida. Grace was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother who greatly enjoyed spending time with her family.

Grace is survived by four sons: William (Jan) McDonald of Zanesville; James (Mary Ann) McDonald of Nashport; Jeffrey (Carol) McDonald of Lakeland, FL; and David (Kathy) McDonald of Rincon, GA.; three daughters: Marylu McDonald of Tucson, AZ; Carole Norton of Zanesville; and Patricia Wallace of Hopewell. 17 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren

In addition to her parents Grace was preceded in death by her husband: William E. McDonald; three sisters: Sr. Florence Myers, Ruth Weidemeyer, and Louise Wills; three brothers: Edward Myers, Ralph Myers and Carl Myers and one son-in-law: John Wallace.

Friends may call from 5:00 – 8:00 PM, Friday, February 5th, 2010 at The Hillis & Hardwick Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue where a Christian Vigil Service will be held at 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM, Saturday, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church with Fr. Martin Ralko as celebrant. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery.
