Grammy-Nominated Singer in Zanesville

Grammy-nominated country music artist Jake Owen is holding a concert Friday in Zanesville.

Owen and his band arrived in the city early this morning. He said he’s excited to be headlining his own show.

"I’ve been the opening act for a long time and it’s nice to now be able to do our own thing and have our own headlining act and hopefully we’ll continue to keep it that way for years to come," he said.

The singer has played shows in all types of venues, including large stadiums. He said it’s fun to play at an auditorium like Secrest.

"It just feels nice to come and play a small venue like this and be able to reach out and say hey to a fan and thank the people for coming and just kind of feel that audience reaction as opposed to being in a place where you’re so far away from everbody," he said.

After leaving Secrest Owen and company are heading to Lima.
