Grave Marker Dedication Service

A Revolutionary War patriot is being honored.

The Sons and Daughters of the American Revolution hosted a grave marker dedication service Saturday afternoon in honor of Isaiah Hoskinson who served in the Revolutionary War. Through geneaology, the Gutridge family discovered the history behind their ancestor.

"Your past is knowing where you come from and I think that’s important and to me it’s very important to know that I had ancestors that served in the revolution," says Family Member Ada Gutridge.

She says the family spent months trying to clean up the cemetary where Isaiah’s grave was found. Sister-in-law Jenny agrees that everyone should take the time to look up their past.

"I love geneaology I think when you’re young and you have your family you don’t have time, but there comes a time when you can find who your ancestors are," she says.

The small cemetery sits hillside on a family farm in Franklin Township.
