Gregory Stracher

Carnation1

Gregory E. Starcher, 67, of Roseville, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on Sunday February 22, 2026, at Altercare in Zanesville, Ohio. Born on September 14, 1958, in Zanesville, Ohio, to the late Clarien and Doris Marilee (McGee) Starcher, Greg was a man of simple pleasures and deep familial bonds. Greg’s life was filled with the love and guidance of his parents and his brother, the late Jeff Starcher. These early years set the foundation for a life characterized by dedication to family, a strong work ethic, and the value of friendship. Greg’s love for his family was unparalleled, particularly the bond he shared with his mother, Doris, who was not only his parent but his best friend. When she passed away on March 15, 2023, Greg felt her loss profoundly. Today, we find comfort in the belief that they are reunited, resting together in eternal peace. Greg was known for his reliability and hard work as a truck driver for Miller Trucking. Beyond his work, Greg was a man who cherished simple joys. His favorite moments were often spent at his local watering hole, where he would savor a cold Pabst Blue Ribbon among friends. These gatherings were never just about the drink; they were about the camaraderie, the stories shared, and the laughter that filled the room. Greg’s easygoing nature and sense of humor made him a welcome fixture in these social circles, and his absence will be deeply felt. Greg’s life was not marked by accolades or fame, but by the genuine connections he made and the lives he touched. He was a man who lived for the care and compassion he could offer, especially to his mother. His special friend, Katie Addington, who looked after him in his later years, was a testament to the reciprocal care and friendship he inspired. A dignified cremation will take place under the direction of Ross-Frash Funeral Home, 33 N. Main Street, Roseville. Graveside services will be announced when the date is determined and he will be laid to rest next to his family in Rose Hill Cemetery.
