Guernsey Co. parents charged with seriously injuring infant

BYESVILLE, Ohio– The Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office says that two parents have been charged for seriously injuring a nearly two-month-old infant.

The sheriff says the charges came after an investigation that began when the injuries to the Byesville child were reported to his office.
The parents, 20-year-old Robert A. Rusnak of Cambridge and 22-year-old Melissa R. Harris of Byesville, face felony child endangerment charges.
The child is being treated at Akron Children’s Hospital after initially being taken to Southeastern Ohio Medical Center, according to the sheriff.
The parents are in custody in Guernsey County. Their bond hearing is scheduled for Friday afternoon in Cambridge Municipal Court.
