Guns Beat Hoses in Overwhelming 49-0 Victory

Local law enforcement and firefighters battled it out on the turf Saturday evening in the 4th annual Guns ‘n Hoses charity football game.
Held at the Maysville Athletic Complex, dozens of southeast Ohio residents came out for Saturday’s game which raises money for the Muskingum Valley Red Cross.
"These guys, they do a great job, they know this is for a good cause, they get out on the field and definitely the competitiveness heats up but they have fun," said Coordinator Jenifer Kruzan.
Before the game started, Maysville Schools presented Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz with a plaque honoring the Sheriff’s Office and all other personnel for their tireless efforts in helping to keep the public safe during this week’s exotic animal incident.
"We know this has been a tough week, especially with these guys, I don’t think they got a lot of sleep during the middle of the week and to come out here and still play for our game, we appreciate it," added Kruzan.
Kruzan says they hoped to raise around 8,000 dollars, with 100 percent of the proceeds going right back into the Red Cross.
