Habitat For Humanity of Southeast Ohio Hosts First Ever ‘Muskingum County Nails It’ Fundraiser

The premise of the event was to see which team could drive nails into a piece of wood the fastest with a hammer.  People from all across Muskingum County participated in the event to have some fun and to support a great cause.

"We were really excited, we had some fantastic teams here tonight.  We are going to raise around six to seven thousand dollars tonight for home ownership opportunities and repair programs for Muskingum County," said Habitat for Humanity of Southeast Ohio Executive Director, Kenneth Oehlers.

Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with families to provide housing solutions across many counties in Southeast Ohio.  Oehlers said the event was all thanks to the support of the Muskingum community.

"Anytime we can get people putting nails into wood is a good time for Habitat for Humanity.  It’s great to see people out here supporting Habitat and getting their hands dirty doing something that they wouldn’t typically do," said Oehlers.

Oehlers said that Habitat for Humanity is looking forward to making this a yearly event.  He also said that they are especially excited to start working on their first home build later this year.
