Harold “Gene” Church

Harold “Gene” Church, 84, passed away Sunday (September 7, 2025) at his home, having lost his battle with cancer.

He was born August 22, 1941 in Cambridge, son of the late Harold and Freda (Grindstaff) Church.

Gene worked at the former RCA and NCR and later retired from Golden Rule School.

He enjoyed collecting marbles. As a younger man, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Gene attended the Bethlehem Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmy, Arden, and Bill; and a sister, Linda.

Gene is survived by his wife of sixty-four years, Fern (Larrison) Church; his two sons, Michael and Daniel; one living sister, Patty Anne, whom he was very devoted to; four grandchildren, Aubrey, Tara, Carter, and Connor; and two great-grandchildren, Gavin and Sawyer.

He will be greatly missed by his family and many good friends.

Visitation will be held Friday (September 12, 2025) from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Northwood Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mark Slay officiating. A picnic will follow at the park.
