Harold William George (August 13, 1929 – December 28, 2015)

Harold William George 86, of Newark passed away on Monday December 28, 2015 a Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation in Newark.
He was born in Newark on August 13, 1929 to the late Ernest and Clara Kaercher George. He retired from Newark Air Force Base where he was a technician. He proudly served our country in the US Army National Guard, was Catholic by faith, and enjoyed gardening and telling jokes.
He is survived by two sons: Dennis George of Anchorage, Alaska and Thomas George of Sarasota ,Florida, a daughter Katherine Coen of Charlotte, North Carolina, a step son Mark Burfield of Naples, Florida, two step daughters: Gloria Kieffer and Bevery Huth both of Zanesville, a brother Ernest George of Newark, Seven Step grandchildren and seven step great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Cathereen Harkness George.
Visitation will be from 10am to 12pm (Noon) on Saturday January 2at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD ZANESVILLE. Services will follow in the Snouffer Chapel at Noon with Deacon Bob Ghiloni officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar Forks Cemetery in Gratiot.
