Harry “Mac” Patterson, 81, of Kimbolton, passed away Friday (June 7, 2024) at Countryview Assisted Living Center, Lore City.

He was born September 15, 1942 in Washington PA, son of the late Hugh Patterson and Sarah (Mustard) Patterson.

Mac was an operator for forty-years and, most notably, he worked with the engineering group that constructed the dam at Salt Fork State Park. He was also a mine inspector for the State of Ohio.

He was a 1960 graduate of Madison High School. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved gardening and canning his own vegetables.

Mac was a member of the Freeport Masonic Lodge # 415 F & AM, a member of the Valley of Cambridge Scottish Rite, and a member of the Ohio Aladdin Shriners.

He enjoyed officiating for basketball and softball games. He also judged the horse racing events at the county fair.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Sally and Sarah Joanna; and three brothers, Jim, Sam, and Dick.

Mac is survived by two sons, Paul (& Debbie) Patterson and Michael (& Beth) Patterson; a daughter, Jan Ellen (& Timothy) Sandlin; two brothers, John Patterson and Ed Patterson; and two sisters, Mary Margaret “Peg” and Louise; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Justin, Zack, Vanessa, Jerad, Derek, and Bo; twelve great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews; and his close friends, Mark and Jennifer Rossiter.

Visitation will be held Tuesday (June 11, 2024) from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, with a brief service beginning at 8 p.m. with Chaplain Kris Bright officiating. Masonic services will be held during the visitation hours at 6 p.m. Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, is handling arrangements.

Private family burial will be held at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge.
