Harvey Kaufman
Harvey M. Kaufman, 87, died peacefully on Friday December 10th 2022 in Zanesville, Ohio of natural causes.
He was born on February 16th 1935 in Washington, PA the son of Nathan M. and Freida Abel Kaufman.
Deceased are two brothers, Marvin and Sidney Kaufman; and a nephew, Nathan Kaufman.
Harvey had a wonderful 60-year marriage to his one and only, Ellen who survives. Harvey and Ellen created a life together and he is also survived by his four children; Brian (Lisa) Kaufman, Mark Kaufman, Eric (Amanda) Kaufman, and Alison (Robbie) Gaiters. Grandsons Nate Kaufman, Ben (Stephanie) Kaufman, and Marcus Gaiters. Granddaughters Sarah (Cole) Carpenter and Grace Gaiters. And great granddaughters Emrie Kaufman and Sophia Carpenter. Harvey had many dogs, who he dearly loved including: Mugsey, Ching, Abbie, Buttons, Kobe, Bogie, and LeBron; and many nieces and nephews.
Harvey served 6 years in the United States Army Reserve Corps. He had a 41-year career with Cooper Industries (Eaton IND.) holding various marketing management positions. He started with predecessor companies: Pennsylvania Transformer, Canonsburg, PA; McGraw-Edison Power Systems, Zanesville, OH; Cooper Power Systems, Waukesha, WI. During retirement, Harvey and his beloved wife, Ellen, were innkeepers at a Victorian Bed & Breakfast in the Ohio Amish Country. Later, they owned the Java House Café. They enjoyed countless trips and vacations together. During the last years of his life on earth Harvey thoroughly enjoyed the times spent at their home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church (Myrtle Beach), St. John Cathedral (Milwaukee), and St. Thomas (Zanesville). Harvey chose to be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Harvey will be missed by his loved ones, friends, and pets.
