Hatfield Pleads Guilty In Ems Case

The Ohio Attorney General’s Office says the former chief of the Harrison Township E-M-S pleaded guilty Monday in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court to two counts of theft and one count of money laundering. A spokeswoman for the A-G’s Office says Brian Hatfield entered the pleas in connection with the misspending of nearly 500-thousand dollars designated for emergency services for Harrison Township Emergency Medical Services. Three other charges are being dropped at the request of the state. He faces up to 11 years in prison during sentencing which has not yet been set. Hatfield is being held without bond. Last month two of six other defendants were sentenced in the case.
