Hazel Bondurant

Hazel Irene Bondurant, age 70, of Pennsville, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, October 16, 2026. She was born on December 11, 1955 to the late Harold and Ethel (Ashbaugh) Griffith in Athens, Ohio.

Hazel was raised on her parent’s farm, learning the value of hard-work and about her Christian faith. On October 25, 1986 in Logan, Ohio, Hazel married the love of her life, Rev. Stephen Bondurant at and together they raised 4 children. She worked at the Goodyear plant in Logan for about 15 years before the family moved away. After, Hazel spent over 20 years working with her husband, both at various grocery stores and at the church he was pastoring, where she would play piano.

Hazel was a long-time member of the United Methodist Women and when her children were young, her and Stephen were active in the Philo 4-H clubs. She loved music, whether it was listening to Christian music or learning a new song for the church. In her free time, Hazel enjoyed crafts and puzzles, more than anything, she loved her family and her faith.

Hazel is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Stephen; step-son, Dale (Sarah) Eury; children, Raymond Bondurant, John Bondurant, and Sandra Bondurant; grandchildren, Kinsley Bondurant and Valerie Fisher; siblings, Ralph Griffith, Frances (Tony) Funk, and Fred (Lynn) Griffith. She also leaves behind many friends and extended family.

In addition to her parents, Hazel is preceded in death by her brother, Raymond Griffith.

A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, November 14, 2026 at Pennsville United Methodist Church, 1711 OH-377, Stockport, OH 43787. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service at the church. The service will be officiated by Rev. Stephen Bondurant.
