Hazel Daw

Hazel Daw, 89, of Zanesville Ohio, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024. Hazel was born on May 11, 1935, to Elijah and Beulah (Hess) Helton. In addition to her parents, Hazel is preceded in death by her husband whom she married November 21 of 1959, Vernon E. Daw; siblings, Earnest Helton, Arnold Helton, Gladys Rose and George Helton.

Hazel leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Debbie (Dave) Brock, Kenny (Chris) Daw and Randy (Julie) Daw; grandchildren, Jenn (Justin) Fitz, David Brock, Diane (Jeff) Hoover, Michael (Miranda) Daw and Olivia Daw; great grandchildren, Taylor Daw, Sammie Daw, Silas Fitz, Ellie Hoover and Gunner Daw; siblings, Mary Compton, Dorothy Dye and Ruby (Edward) Miller; special aide, Susie; as well as several other friends and family.

Hazel enjoyed gardening in her free time, mainly so she could eat the tomatoes she grew. She also enjoyed listening to old country music, along with visiting family, especially her grandchildren. Hazel also enjoyed going to church and having fellowship, family reunions and drinking coffee on her porch. Going on family vacations with her daughter and family was something she always looked forward to. They would often go to Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee and Myrtle beach. In her younger days she enjoyed theme parks and local fairs. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

You may call on the family Wednesday, October 16, 2024 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Hoaker Funeral Home, 4686 Redbud Hwy. Honaker, VA 24260, as well as Thursday, October 17, 2024 from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. with funeral services starting at 12 p.m. at Burrell Funeral Services, 414 LaSalle st. Zanesville OH 43701. Burial will follow funeral services on Thursday in Memorial Park Cemetery. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
