Hazel B. Fogle age 87, of Caldwell, OH passed away Friday, October 4, 2024 at OhioHealth Pickerington Methodist Hospital in Pickerington, OH. She was born December 6, 1936 in Noble County, OH daughter of the late Earl and Ruth Gleason Hayes.

She was a member of St. Mary’s of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fulda as well as their C.W.C. Hazel was also a member of the Women of the Moose – Caldwell Lodge #221 and the Belle Valley American Legion Auxiliary Post #641. She had 6 children by the time she was 27 and dedicated her life to raising them on everything homemade. She baked, cooked, canned, butchered chickens, you name it she did it. Later she and her husband Jim, owned and operated the Fogle’s Inn for over 17 years.

Hazel was a devoted mother and grandmother. People were always drawn to her, and she loved to be surrounded by family and friends. She will always be remembered for her toughness and a hard worker. She took great pride in caring for her home. Hazel always loved reminiscing of the times they spent with friends playing cards and sharing fellowship at each other’s homes as she and Jim were raising their children. She endured great heartbreak over the years but somehow Hazel was able to find joy and enjoy her life; as shown by her love of music and dancing.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband James W. “Jim” Fogle, whom she married June 25, 1955 and who passed away February 12, 2008; 3 sons Gary Fogle, Donald “Stoggie” Fogle, and Robert “Rolly” Fogle; sister Linda Swan; brothers Richard “Dick” Hayes and Kenneth Hayes.

Those left to cherish her memory are her 2 daughters Cindy (Jeff) Yunk of Caldwell and Annette (Mark) Allen of Cambridge, OH; son Dennis “Whitey” (Debbie) Fogle of Caldwell, OH; daughters-in-law Joyce Fogle of Devola, OH and Angela Fogle of Cumberland, OH; grandchildren William Albert (Jenn) Fogle, Thomas James (Corin) Fogle, Melissa Fogle, Josh (Nicole) Fogle, Tiffany (Josh) Kehl, Levi (Kelly) Fogle, Laura Miller, LeeAnn Hazel Fogle, Lydia Amelia (Dakota) Ginn, Zach Fogle, James Robert Fogle, and Rebecca Barnes; great-grandchildren Warren and Eve Fogle, Elise Fogle, Eliza and Ellie Fogle, Branson James Miller, Braelyn Brokaw, Kinsley and Haisley Ginn, Kazia Barnes, Brant, Brooklyn, and Braddock Fogle, Kya and Jude Kehl; 2 brothers Tom (Marilyn) Hayes of Grove City, OH and Jack (Shirley) Hayes of Caldwell; 3 sisters Mary Clark of Caldwell, Mable Schott of Caldwell, Nancy (Jim) Wells of Belle Valley, OH. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends for visitation Tuesday, October 8, 2024 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724, with a Rosary Service to conclude visitation at 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary’s of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 43700 Fulda Road, Caldwell, OH 43724, with Rev. Father Thomas Nau serving as celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband Jim.
