Health Insurance Company Makes Briefing To County Commissioners

ZANESVILLE, Ohio-The Forker Company is a local firm that specializes in employee benefits.
This morning they made their yearly briefing to the Muskingum County Commissioners on cost and benefits available to county employees. President Frank Dosch tells us what happens behind the scenes in county healthcare.
“Every employer is facing this: health insurance does one thing and that is go up in cost. So we’re here today to present to the commissioners the renewal, which is January 1st. We have a great relationship, the Forker Company is the benefit consultant, MedBen out of Newark is the third party administrator, we work very closely with Quality Care partners.”
Dosch says that they have been successful for this year’s renewal.
“When we looked at the numbers and the math, looking to stay with the incumbent, It’s very important to know that this was shopped out to nine different stop loss companies. So even though MedBen is on the ID card, behind the scenes the insurance that deals with larger claims has been shopped with nine different, so we feel very good about what we brought to the commissioners as far as our due diligence.”
Effects on county employees will be felt in the next calendar year.
