ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Locals are being asked to reduce the risk of heart disease, which is the number one killer. Their doing this by having fun.

Genesis Healthcare System is presenting HeartChase a program originated through the American Heart Association. HeartChase Director, Emily Blair said businesses and especially hospitals are looking for healthier life styles and workforce’s.

“They’re looking you know for ways to engage their employees in a mission driven activity,” Blair said. “So we go in and we really encourage businesses to be heart healthy all year long and these HeartChase’s are celebration of that.”

Blair said there will be groups of two to five people competing through different checkpoints on the Genesis Campus. The game central will be located in the parking lot in front of the Physicians Pavilion.

“It’s going to be a mission based activity,” Blair said. “So whether that might be trivia, there’s going to be a C.P.R. station where you learn hands only C.P.R., 60 compressions it’s great. There will be an inflatable jousting game, throwing that out there, but yes you’re going to learn a small behavior change that’s going to have a long lasting impact on your health.”

HeartChase is happening on June 17 17, 2017 with check in starting at 8:30 A.M. and the event officially starting at 10:00 A.M. For more information or to register download the HeartChase App or visit their website at heartchase.org
