Heat for our Heroes

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – One area business is giving back to those who have given all.

Ables is giving away two heating systems to help veterans, current service members, or widows of service members, get through the winter months. Manager Jeremy Ables said it is a chance to make sure those who have served our country have a reliable system in their home.

“Through the years of doing service work, we found a lot were in need of replacement of a system or at least one in a safe condition,” said Ables.

Ables said they were inspired to help veterans and military members because he feels they are the heroes to look up to.

“To me, those are the heroes that people should look up to and its a way for us to give back and help out so that’s why we do it,” said Ables.

Applications for Heat for our Heroes can be found at their Zanesville location, Cambridge location or online. Ables said it is open to all Muskingum and Gurnsey County veterans and active military members and that applications are due by October 20th. He said community members can nominate veterans or active service members by filling out an application for them. He said the two winners will be announced on Veterans Day.
