Helen Headley

Helen (Remley) Headley, 79, of Cambridge, went to be with her late husband, Butch, on Thursday (October 24, 2024).
She was born March 11, 1945 in Cambridge on Gomber Avenue, daughter of the late Lonnie “Hop” Remley Sr. and Naomi (Kranz) Remley.
Helen had worked for Ekco Housewares and at several area hotels. Later, she worked for Baileys Group Home caring for the residents as a caregiver worker for 14 years.
She enjoyed playing bingo and euchre.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Bernard Remley, Clinton Reed, Lonnie Remley Jr., and Robert A. Remley; three sisters, Alma Hosler, Carol Kelly, and Sylvia Remley; a son, Richard Bates; a daughter, Melissa Bates; and a granddaughter, Ashley Bates.
Helen is survived by a son, Paul Bates Jr., and daughter-in-law, Beverly, whom she loved dearly; two daughters, Christina Ledet and Paula Johnson; a sister, Ruth Walls of Cambridge, whom she loved dearly; nine grandchildren and thirteen loveliest great-grandchildren who made her happy and proud.
The family would like to say thank you to the Beckett House of New Concord for her care; to Jo that took care of her and thought the world of; and to Arthur Morrisson for always being her good friend.
Visitation will be held Monday (October 28, 2024) from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with her long-time friend Rev. Randolph White officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Byesville. When they lay Helen beside her love, she will be at peace and rest. It is all over. She is with her lover, friend, and husband – Butch.
