Nash Helen

Helen C. (Stenson) Nash, age 94, of Zanesville, died at 7:28 AM, Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at the Primrose Retirement Community in Zanesville. She was born Monday, August 4, 1930, in Columbus, the daughter of the late Martin and Rose (Forquer) Stenson. She was married on Saturday, July 14, 1951, to Thomas J. Nash who preceded her in death on January 25, 2018.

Helen was a graduate of Moxahala High School and the Meredith Business School. She was a longtime member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church where she was a great supporter of Catholic Schools of Zanesville, the St. Nicholas Festival and the Knights of Columbus. Helen was one of the former owners of Zanesville Fabricators, Inc. She was known as the Matriarch of the Nash Family which extended to countless friends of all ages. Helen enjoyed traveling (not camping), reading, ironing, and going to wineries. She was the warm smile in the kitchen with food on the stove and the first one ready to lend an ear or host a porch party.

Helen is survived by ten of her thirteen children: Martin Nash of Fairplay, SC; Michael (Susan) Nash of Zanesville; Michele (Geary) Danison of Buckeye Lake; Christopher (Nancy) Nash of Gainesville, GA; Joseph (Nancy) Nash of Zanesville; Dennis Nash of St. Charles, MO; Rosemary (Charles) Pfeifer of Gulfport, FL; Linda Coury of Zanesville; Janet (Patrick) Donnelly of Core, WV; and Mary Ann Nash of Zanesville; twenty-eight grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Michael Burkhart of Zanesville; sister: Rosemary (Jack) Albert of Reynoldsburg and a close friend & sister-in-law, Judy Nash of New Lexington.

In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by her daughters, Catherine Burkhart and Patricia Nash; son, Bernard Nash; granddaughter, Jessica Nash; great-granddaughter, Rowe Burkhart; brothers, Patrick (Geneva) Stenson, Joe (Dottie) Stenson, and Paul (Jeannine) Stenson; and daughter-in-law, Ellen Nash.

Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, November 15, 2024, at the Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, where a Christian Vigil Service will be held at 7:45 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 16, 2024, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 925 East Main Street, Zanesville, with Father Martin J. Ralko as celebrant. Burial will conclude in the Mt. Olive Cemetery, Zanesville, Ohio.
