Helen Richey Is This Year’s Lifetime of Service Award Recipient

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The Women of Achievement Award banquet is less than a week away. We sat down with this year’s Lifetime of Service Award recipient Helen Richey.

Richey is originally from Pennsylvania. She’s been an educator for several years. She stressed the importance of paying it forward.

“We all have contributions that we can make to our society. And we certainly want to support good programs and do our part to perpetuate that,” Richey.

Richey said she is honored to be receiving this award. She wants people to try to think of themselves less.

“I had an aunt that give me a little gold pen, and on it was [the word] others. I think if you can live outside yourself and do for others it comes. You don’t do it because it’s going to come back to you. You do it because you want to do it,” said Richey.

The banquet for The Women of Achievement will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at the Ohio University Zanesville-Zane State College Campus Center.
