Helping Heartbeats

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Joseph and Mary were provided-for on the night Jesus was born and that hospitality is still recognized more than 2,000 years later.
Christmas exemplifies the spirit of giving and students of Bishop Fenwick shared their generosity with Heartbeats, a local organization that helps young families struggling to hold things together.
“Bishop Fenwick and Rosecrans have come together once again,” Heartbeats of Zanesville Branch Director Linda Dady said. “They do this annually, so once a year. So they’ve come together and they have collected things for Heartbeats. All kinds of, if you can see behind me, all kinds of baby items, clothing, diapers, wipes, all kinds of things for Heartbeats. We’re so excited. It’s unbelievable and amazing how much they do and it’s teaching them at a young age how to give back.”
Heartbeats has a parent education program that rewards participants with Baby Bucks that can be used to purchase the donated items without any money exchanged.
“Fifth Grade brought in baby onesies for Heartbeats and the other grades helped us, help donate to Heartbeats and then we decided to help collect all of them,” Bishop Fenwick 5th Grade Student Maci Clark said. “It means a lot to me because we’re helping other people through hard times.”
Donated items include: diapers, diaper bags, hygiene goods, along with blankets and clothing. Dady said because there are so many charities the school could have chosen, she is incredibly grateful they chose Heartbeats.
