Helping You Pay For College

Each school has a different deadline for FAFSA, the free application for federal student aid, and the application maybe due before IRS forms are complete, but filing out the forms together can save time and be more accurate.

"It is a lot quicker because you do not have to worry about making mistakes – it will pull it right from your IRS information rather than you trying to fill it in yourself " said Vicki Delucas, OUZ Financial Aid Coordinator.

If your IRS forms are not completed when you file for FAFSA you will most likely have to send a copy of your forms to the college. Fafsa is free to fill-out and the amount you will receive is based on your year in school not your actual school.

"By filing for fafsa you do not have to take the loans that you are eligible for that is a choice that you but they are there during the whole academic year  " answered Delucas.

Ohio University Zanesville and Zane State will host an event February 13, 2011 from 2:00- 4:00 at OUZ to help families file FAFSA. To register go to: www.ohiocollegegoalsunday.org.
