Herbert M. Joseph (February 6, 1947 – July 21, 2012)

Herbert M. “Camel Jockey†Joseph, 65, of Zanesville, passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital.
Herb was born February 6, 1947 in Ravenna, Ohio, the son of the late John and Margaret (Martin) Joseph. Herb retired from Brockway Glass (now Owens-Illinois), where he worked in machine maintenance. He proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Additionally, Herb was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Council 505, American Legion Post 29, and Browns Backers Club Chapter 232. He was active in the Rosecrans Boosters for many years. He also enjoyed the Carr Center Cake Auction, NASCAR (the Earnhardts), the Cleveland Browns and Ohio State.
He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Dona (Fleming) Joseph, whom he married March 9, 1975; his son Chad Joseph and daughter Heather (Sean) Kirkwood; two granddaughters Haille and Emma Joseph; brother Archie Joseph; sister Dora Dobbins; brothers-in-law Jack Fleming and Jack Barnett; sisters-in-law Nancy (Dick Wilson) Lyall and Georgana (Greg Van Woert) Henry; several nieces and nephews; and special cat Spud.
In addition to his parents, Herb is preceded in death by a sister Lucille Gheen; 3 brothers Danny, Richard and Kenneth; father-in-law Tom Fleming; brother-in-law Harold Gheen; sister-in-law Patty Joseph; and mother-in-law Gerri Fleming, who had a special place in her heart for Herb.
The family is being served by the BRYAN & SNIDER FUNERAL HOME, 2318 Maple Avenue, where friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Wednesday, July 25, 2012, with Military Honors preformed at 4 pm at the Funeral home. Cremation will follow. No funeral services will be held at this time.
