Home a Total Loss After Old Town Road House Fire
A large house fire occurred at 7796 Old Town Road Saturday evening.
The call for the blaze came in at approximately 10:30 p.m. Captain of the Newton Township Fire Department, Josh Bryan, described the scene upon arrival.
“We were called this evening for a report of a house fire. The house was fully involved when we got here. All occupants were out of the house. We had some heavy fire conditions.”
No injuries were reported but Bryan said the heat and humidity made things difficult for firefighters to stay cool and hydrated. Firefighters were still working to extinguish flames an hour after arrival to the home. Bryan said crews will remain on the scene well into the overnight hours. The home is considered to be a total loss. Newton Township EMS, South Zanesville Fire and Roseville Fire and EMS also responded to the scene. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
