How to Help Stock a Food Pantry

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Muskingum County is fortunate to have several nonprofits that serve to benefit others in the community.

Good Deeds Service Club Secretary Tracy Rector announced an upcoming fundraiser meal that will donate its proceeds to Eastside Community Ministry’s food pantry.

“Good Deeds is doing a newer event,” Rector said. “It’s called a drive through dinner. And it will be held May the 15th, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. And it will be in the parking lot of the Celebrations Banquet Room, otherwise known as Chef Steve’s place of business. That evening you can come park in the parking lot, give us your name and we’ll hand you the meals.”

Preorders for Chef Steve’s fundraiser, large, family-style meals will be received through Tuesday, May 7th, and will cost $30 dollars. Meal options will include homestyle favorites, such as: BBQ meatballs, lasagna, classic meatloaf and baked steak. The drive through meals will be served cold so that they can be taken home to be frozen or reheated before they are served.

“All of the checks will be payable directly to Eastside Community Ministry, however the order forms will come to us at Good Deeds Service Club. That information can be found on our website. We run through the office of Matson Retirement Planning and we’re a fraternal organization that does four impact events per year,” Rector said.

Order forms can be found online at matsonretirementplanning.com/events and Eastside’s website will have order forms available as well. Orders will also be taken by phone by dialing (740) 454-7646.

Celebrations Banquet Room is located at 730 Putnam Avenue in Zanesville, where Nicol’s Restaurant was located.
