Boys Soccer
Division I Sectional at Tri-Valley
Westerville South 7 – Tri-Valley 0
Tri-Valley’s season comes to an end with a tough loss to Westerville South. The Scotties fell behind 4-0 at halftime and couldn’t respond with a victory. Tri-Valley finishes the year 12-5 overall, with an undefeated, untied league record.
Division II Sectional Final at River View
New Philadelphia 6 – Philo 0
The Quakers scored early and often, en route to eliminating the Philo Electrics in the boys soccer tournament. New Philadelphia advances to the one-game District, where it will face St. Clairsville, 3-0 winners over Steubenville in their sectional title game.
Dover 1 – Maysville 0
Much like their previous game with West Holmes, the Maysville Panthers gave up a goal early against Dover. The difference is, this time around the Southtown boys were unable to fight back.
Dover held off Maysville for a sectional championship victory. They advance to Wednesday’s District Title Match against Beaver Local, who defeated Cambridge on Saturday.
Girls Soccer
Division II Sectional Final at Philo
Dover 0 – River View 5
West Holmes 3 – Tri-Valley 0
River View and West Holmes will face one more time this season, this one for a District Championship, after each rolled to a victory on Saturday.
River View was paced by Kristin Eaton, who scored two first half goals, the last with 15 seconds to play. Kiersten Ashcraft, Rachel Hammond helped build on the Black Bears lead in the second half.
West Holmes had a lot of chances against Tri-Valley. The Scotties struggled to clear several times, but behind keeper Lauren Hartnell, the Dawgs hung tough.
The Knights did, though, break through. Jordan Buchanan notched two in the first half and Mallory Wall add some insurance with an well-placed ball to the upper left 90.
The Black Bears and Knights will play Tuesday at 6.
Division III Sectional Final at West Muskingum
St. Clairsville 1 – Coshocton 5
Coshocton looked impressive in its postseason opener, notching a blowout win over St. Clairsville. The Redskins move onto the Division III District Final Saturday at West Muskingum.
Hiland 0 – West Muskingum 1
The Tornadoes held off a tough Hiland team to pick up a victory in the Sectional Championship. They will also play on Saturday for a District Title at home.
These two teams could potentially meet in the Regional Semifinals, in each can grab victories.
Volleyball
Division II Sectional Final at River View

River View 26 17 23 25 15
River View fought and picked up an impressive five-set victory over New Philadelphia. The Black Bears will take on ECOL foe Dover in the District Title Match Saturday at Tri-Valley.
Division III Sectional Final at Meadowbrook
Buckeye Trail 25 25 17 18 15
West Muskingum 16 21 25 25 12
West Muskingum incredible season came to an end with a tough five-set loss to Buckeye Trail. The Tornadoes fell behind by two sets and managed to fight back into the match, winning the next two. But West M ultimately fell short of the victory.
The Lady ‘Nadoes finish the season tied for the league championship in volleyball.
The Warriors will continue on to the District Semifinals to take on Shenandoah Tuesday at Cambridge.
Division III Sectional Final at Claymont
Indian Valley 25 19 22 18
Ridgewood 20 25 25 25
Ridgewood fell behind after losing the first set against Indian Valley, but responded by winning three straight. The Generals will take on a tough Tusky Valley team, winners of 10 straight District Championships and a Regional Title last year.
The winner of Ridgewood/Tusky Valley will face the Shenandoah/Buckeye Trail victor for a District Crown on Thursday.
