***UPDATE*** 5:30 p.m. E-M-A Director Jeff Jadwin says both lanes of I-70 westbound are now open to traffic. The accident scene has been cleaned up. ***UPDATE***

***UPDATE*** Emergency Management Agency Director Jeff Jadwin says as of 4:50 p.m. one lane of traffic is open in the westbound lanes of I-70. He says it will be at least an hour or more until both lanes are reopened. He says traffic is currently backed up to the Airport Road exit, east of Zanesville. ***UPDATE***

The Muskingum County Emergency Management Agency says I-70 Westbound is closed after a three vehicle accident.

E-M-A Director Jeff Jadwin says the highway is closed between the West Pike exit and Gratiot exit.

He says a semi-tractor trailer and two vehicles were involved in an accident and there is a fuel spill.

There is no word on how long the interstate will be shut down.
