Illegal Fireworks Confiscated
$15,000 worth of illegal fireworks is found at a business in Gallia County.
Spokesman Shane Cartmill says Brown Brothers Lawn and Garden in Gallipolis was selling these fireworks to the public without a license. The store owner has been charged with illegal possession of fireworks. If convicted, the owner could face up to six months in jail or a $1,000 fine.
The State Fire Marshall’s Office wants to remind everyone as we head into the holiday weekend that while you can still buy fireworks in the state of Ohio, they must be transported out of the state within 48 hours of purchase because it’s illegal to set off fireworks here.
