Investigation into Newark Double Shooting

Newark Police said a 16-year-old suspect is in custody following a double shooting. 

Monday, authorities said they were called to 606 Glenbrook Drive for a report of a shooting. When they arrived they found a father, 42-year-old Thomas McCarty and 20-year-old son Shawn McCarty had both been shot. 

The victims were taken to Ohio State University Hospital for medical treatment. 

During the investigation officer received information that three suspects had fled the apartment following the shooting, two in a truck and one one foot. 

Officers located the 16-year-old on foot and a firearm the suspect had discarded.

Officers are still searching for the two suspects who fled in the pick up truck. The truck is described as being white or light gray, full size with no tailgate and large tires that protrude out past the bed of the truck.
