Isham and Corbett Indicted by Grand Jury

The Perry County Sheriff’s Office announces the indictment of two major drug traffickers.

27-year-old Marcus Isham of New Lexington was indicted on complicity to aggravated possession of heroin, trafficking in heroin and possession of prescription drugs.

The Sheriff’s Office said between May of 2013 and November of 2014, Isham distributed nine and a half ounces of heroin throughout Perry and surrounding counties.

If convicted on all counts he could face up to 25 years in prison.

Isham is currently being held in the Southeast Ohio Regional Jail in Nelsonville.

60-year-old Melvin Corbett of Newark was charged with aggravated trafficking of methamphetamine. Authorities said that in March of this year Corbett distributed over an ounce of meth in the New Lexington area.

He was arrested by agents with the Central Ohio Drug Enforcement Task Force at his home in Newark in August.

If convicted he faces up to 10 years in prison.

Since January, narcotics detectives in Perry County have taken over $86,000 in illegal narcotics off the streets and seized nearly $24,000 in cash from drug offenders.
