Jail Bond Issue Fails/Health Dept. Levy Passes

The proposal to build a new jail in Muskingum County was defeated by voters in Tuesday’s election. The one mill 30 year bond issue lost by over 2800 votes. But, the news was good for the Zanesville Muskingum County Health Department renewal levy which easily passed. In the race for Zanesville City Council At-Large the winners were incumbents Ann Gildow and Joey Pennybaker Osborn and Rob Sharrer. In the race for 4th ward city council Sandy Gentry was re-elected beating challenger Sean Brady.
