James Buckey

James R. Buckey, 91, of Stow, passed away Saturday (October 5, 2024) at the Vitalia Senior Residences in Stow.

He was born November 13, 1932 in Noble County and was the son of the late William and Kathleen (Kirk) Buckey.

Mr. Buckey retired from General Motors after 48 years of service as a Tool Maker. He was a member of St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church, a 1951 graduate of Belle Valley High School and an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.

He is survived by his wife, Janis M. (Smee) Buckey whom he married November 2, 1957; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday (October 10, 2024) at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, with Father Ed Gretchko officiating.

Burial will be in Saint Michael’s Cemetery, Pleasant City OH.
