James Haas

James “Jim” Peter Haas, 78, of LaGrange, passed away Friday (December 5, 2025) at Hospice of Medina County.

He was born November 4, 1947 in Canton, son of the late Roy Haas and Maxine (Wolfard) Haas.

A graduate of Canton South High School, Jim worked for forty years at the Hoover Company.

Jim was a US Navy veteran.

He loved being with his grandchildren and travelling with his wife, Rose, in their RV.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rose (Katich) Haas, who passed away May 31, 2019. They were married July 3, 1982. Also deceased is a brother, Jerry Haas; and a sister, Myrne Haas.

Jim is survived by his son, Jim Haas of Laurelville; his daughter, Cari (Ray) Rastetter-Padin of LaGrange; his brother, Ronald Haas; his sister, Pat (Bob) Scott of Bolivar; five grandchildren, C.J., Kelsey, Maggie, Parker, and Macin; and a great-grandchild, Hunter.

No calling hours will be observed. No funeral services will be held at this time. Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, is handling arrangements.
