James M. “Jim” Schalip, 89, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family on July 12, 2024 at 12:50 a.m. He was born on January 19, 1935 in Marysville, Ohio to the late Harry Schalip and Elnora Trout.
Jim served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959. He was a mechanic for many years and sold cars at Dutros for 21 years and was a traveling salesman. He was a member of the Rose Farm Church of Christ and The House of Grace.
Left to cherish his memories is a son Scott (Michelle) Wingrove. Two daughters Tanya Graham and Tina Engle. Grandkids Ryan Wingrove, Ashlie (Chris) Harbaugh, Katie Klinger, Emmalie Engle, Ian and Marissa Graham. Several great-grandchildren. Special friend Johnny Johnson and one fur baby Skye.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Helen, one brother, and four sisters. Per his wishes, his body was donated to Ohio University Body Donor Program for research. A celebration of life will be held at Rose Farm Church of Christ in Crooksville on Saturday July 27, 2024 from 4:00-5:00 p.m. with a service to begin at 5:00 p.m.
