James “Jim” Swartz (January 13, 1954 – October 6, 2009)
PHILO: James “Jim” H. Swartz, 55, of Center Road, Philo went home to receive his reward on Tuesday October 6, 2009 at 9:56 a.m. at Genesis Hospice.
Jim was born January 13, 1954 in Berea, to the late Samuel and Thelma Katheleen (Roberts) Swartz. He was the owner and operator of Swartz Tire and Muffler for 24 years, he was a member of Cornerstone Full Gospel Church, he enjoyed Riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, working with his hands, restoring old cars and he took pride in serving each of his customers but his biggest joy was spending time with his wife, children and his grandchildren.
Jim is survived by his wife, Brenda Harrop Swartz whom he married February 4, 1972; his son, Jim (Karen) Swartz Jr. of Duncan Falls; two daughters, Kimberly (Jeff) Holdren of Zanesville, and Brandi J. (Bret) Bernard of Philo; seven grandchildren, Kylee (Chad) Martin, Katlyn Holdren, Kelsee Holdren, Kendell Holdren, Baylee Bernard, Luke Liston, James “Trey” Henry Swartz III; his brothers, Sam (Barb) Swartz of Blue Rock, Rick (Cindy) Talbert of Zanesville, and Randy (Sandy) Talbert of Zanesville; his sisters, Katie (Merlin) Paisley of Cambridge, Jean (Don) Wilson of Blue Rock; and many cherished loved ones.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Cliff Talbert.
Visitations will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday October 8, 2009 and 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Cornerstone Full Gospel Church in Duncan Falls where the funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, with Pastor J. Stephen Harrop officiating. Burial will follow in Duncan Falls Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jim Swartz Benefit Fund, at any Century National Bank office.
