James Richard Householder (December 2, 1923 – April 23, 2016)

James Richard Householder 92 of Zanesville passed away on Saturday April 23, 2016 at Cedar Hill Care Center in Zanesville.
Jim was born in Zanesville on December 2, 1923 to the late Lantie and Dorothy King Householder. In 1956 Jim started his banking career as a teller at First Trust and Savings Bank on Fifth Street in Zanesville, he retired in 1985 as Vice President of installment loans. Jim was a member of First United Methodist Church in Zanesville. He served our country and protected our freedom in the United States Army during WWII. He was in the 63rd Armored Division stationed in southern France, southern Europe, and Southern Germany. Jim received two Purple Hearts for being wounded twice in Durzburg, Germany.
Jim is survived by his wife Carol Pearson Householder whom he married November 25, 1961, a son Eric (Charma) Householder of Frazeysburg, two daughters: Karen (Terry) Porter and Beth Householder both of Zanesville, a sister Janice Schmidt, and three grandchildren: Sarah Gee, Ryan Householder, and McKenzie Householder.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Robert Householder and a sister Faye Burwell.
Calling hours will be 2-4 and 6-8pm on Monday April 25 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD ZANESVILLE. Funeral services will be 11am Tuesday in the Snouffer Chapel with Re. Joy French officiating. Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
