James Roman

James “Jim” Alfred Roman, 74, of Trinway, died Friday evening, December 8, 2023, at Genesis Hospital, Zanesville.

Born June 20, 1949, in Zanesville, he was the son of late Alfred and Adlena (Wright) Roman and a 1967 graduate of Tri-Valley High School. Jim retired from the Dresden Feed Mill after 45 years of service and 35 years of serving as a Cass Township Trustee. Jim was a lifetime member of the Trinway United Methodist Church, where he currently was serving as church trustee. He was involved in the Central Republican Committed, Muskingum County Sheep Committed and Ohio Suffolk Association.

Surviving is his wife of 53 years, Ruth Ann (Roahrig) Roman, whom he married March 28, 1971; four children, Marsha Roman, Kimberly Roman, Michael (Nicole) Roman and Carla Roman; two grandchildren, Kelcie Hooper and Colton Roman; a sister, Sally Mohler; brother-in-law, Ronnie Roahrig; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death, by a grandson, Jordan Roman; two sisters-in-law, Connie Miller and Carolyn Roahrig; and brother-in-law, Andrew Mohler.

Friends and family may call Wednesday, December 13, 2023, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 14, 2023, at the Northgate Church Dresden, 10516 Frazeysburg Road, Dresden with Rev. Carl Schaefer and Pastor Sharon Williamson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00am till the time of service at 11:00am.

Jim will be laid to rest at Dresden Cemetery, Dresden.
